My Discoveries - My Poem

so as you sit there and watch me strive for sucess

building and growing

with dreams to be a professional black dancer at my best

you may be blind to see

how much i aspire to do what many greats like Alvin Ailey and Judith Jamison have done before

for people like me

this young black 19 year old sister

always on her toes

and i say toes because that is where i feel at home

a sense of center

a sense of comfort

a sense of acceptance

which cant be captured in just one picture or film

just to be mocked and ridiculed

and continued to be mis understood

when this young sister

sister

is merely doing what she loves

not to accumulate more hate

but hoping to attain something from this thing called life

destined in her fate

to one day find her soulmate

in a harmony of sweet melody

naive to the fact that real happines is never reached

but seeking for a man that is just as honest as i try to be

men

so hard to figure out

like a word carved on a park bench in the slums

trying my best to move on and not sit around in fear and doubt at nights

wondering will i ever find that one

that beats the stereotype

but maybe thats it i am restrained to one type

with an ego so large no one can break through to you

sitting here wondering if its only me

insecurities

mentality wise

i change my own thoughts to

believe we arnt meant to be

Road To Sucess --

In case anyone is wondering I've been working hard on a few things to help get
recognition as a black dancer on the rise. I was premierd in D.A.M online
magazine and I am on my quest to more exciting features on blogs/or websites.

Since being a dancer in college is not a normal or typical thing, I am excited
to show the world what it takes and why I have pursues it for so long.I also
want to end all the stereotypes against dancers, much less those of clor. We are
artists too with no recognition !

So for all those that support me or are interested in helping let me know. New
pictures and documentaries will be coming soon. Respect and love instead of
hate!!!! :D
